Short description

The Koning Willem I College is the most sustainable VET institute in the Netherlands. We offer outstanding innovative and sustainable facilities and engaged staff. In our education we work with The Whole School Approach (WSA) for sustainable development. This is a framework that supports schools to shape education for a sustainable future. The WSA helps to structurally and coherently integrate sustainability issues into your school organization.




Learning outcomes

After this training program:

  • You will know how to teach sustainability suited for VET.
  • You will learn about the donut economy also to classify the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • You will learn and experience what the Whole School Approach means in VET Education.
  • You will learn how the SDGs can be incorporated in the vision, mission, attainment targets and the communication of your institution.
  • We will discuss problems and challenges together so we can learn from each other.



Daily program

Day 1

  • Check-in participants.
  • The Whole School Approach at the Koning Willem I College.
  • Sustainability / the donut economy / challenges in teaching.
  • Visit our Tech campus: a sustainable, circular and flexible building with different learning environments.
  • Get to know our award winning education innovation ‘The Talent Studio’ in which students work in multidisciplinary teams on real societal challenges with a focus on the Global Goals.
  • Visit the city and attend a boat tour on the cannals.

Day 2

  • Vision, mission, aims and communication with regard to sustainability.
  • The Dutch approach to the energy transition and the circular economy in general and in VET education.
  • ‘s-Hertogenbosch nominated as green capital of Europe.
  • Exchange of insights and experiences.
  • Excursion to the Spark makers zone for Innovation.
  • Final evaluation.
  • Certification.

Pricing

This training program costs € 410 per participant (VAT free). Travel and accommodation costs are not included.

Our training courses are eligible for funding by the Erasmus plus key action 1 (KA1 learning mobility of individuals).

This training starts with a minimum of 12 participants.
